Ed Hearn shares his inspirational thoughts and journey with kidney disease and cancer at the 2010 Invisible Disabilities Association Honor Awards Banquet.

Ed is a former member of the 1986 New York Mets World Championship Team! Hearn’s very promising baseball career came to a sudden halt with a shoulder injury. Less than 6 months later, he was diagnosed with three potentially life threatening health conditions, followed by three kidney transplants!

Ed is the Author of Conquering Life’s curves and the founder of The Bottom of the Ninth, a Kansas nonprofit corporation dedicated to the mission of rebuilding the spirit and character of this nation. Hearn was the 2010 recipient of the Invisible Disabilities Association Perseverance Honors Award. Ed was chosen based upon his amazing perseverance and inspiration as he lives each day with three life threatening illnesses. Ed has chosen to use the curves life has thrown him to encourage those around him each day.

The day before he spoke, he had to drive back from the Mayo Clinic and afterwards had to return for more surgery. This man gets the struggles, losses and challenges. He didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to speak to the IDA audience and all who can enjoy hearing his journey through this video and the internet. Be inspired!
