Biff Gore

Biff Gore has been selected to be the 2026 recipient of the IDA’s Caregiver Award. Biff has been chosen because of his compassionate dedication to supporting his family through the daily complexities of Lyme Disease and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS). Driven by his caregiving journey at home, Biff generously and often gives of his time and musical talent as IDA’s Celebration Host and performer. By openly sharing his family’s story on stage, Biff bridges artistic performance with authentic advocacy. His journey exemplifies the compassion and resilience required to cultivate a safe home, honoring the essential role caregivers play in managing invisible disabilities.

Caregiver Award

Known as “The Ambassador of Soul,” Biff Gore is a U.S. Army Medical Corps veteran, surgical physician’s assistant, and holder of a Ph.D. in Public Health who spent over two decades working in the medical and transplant fields consulting with donor and recipient families.

Driven by a lifelong passion for music, Biff auditioned for Season 6 of NBC’s The Voice with Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” earning a four-chair turn from Adam Levine, Shakira, Usher, and Blake Shelton. Joining Team Usher and later stolen by Team Blake after dynamic battle round performances of “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” and “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” his standout run launched a national platform for his music and ministry.

Today, he serves as associate pastor of worship and congregational care at Highline Community Church in Centennial, Colorado, where he lives with his wife, Marilyn, and is the proud father of seven children.

Beyond his professional and musical accomplishments, Biff’s life is defined by a deeply personal journey with invisible disabilities within his own household. Navigating health challenges himself while serving as a dedicated caregiver, Biff supports his family through the daily complexities of Lyme Disease and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS). This lived experience transformed his home into a sanctuary of healing and ignited a broader passion for advocating on behalf of those living with invisible disabilities.

His personal experience with invisible disabilities at home naturally influences how he applies his public health background. To help protect those around him, Biff maintains a fragrance-free lifestyle and actively educates his church and local community on how synthetic scents and chemical irritants in everyday products can trigger severe reactions for individuals living with chemical sensitivities, asthma, autism, MCAS, autoimmune disorders, and more.

In addition to educating his community, Biff frequently donates his musical talents as a performer and event host for IDA and other organizations. By weaving his family’s personal story into his live performances, he connects his love of music with authentic advocacy to raise awareness for invisible health challenges. His ongoing work highlights the strength, care, and dedication needed to maintain a safe, supportive home for loved ones navigating invisible disabilities.
