Invisible No More® Perseverance Award

Dr. Christina Hibbert is a clinical psychologist, international speaker, and bestselling author who dedicated over two decades to pioneering work in women’s emotional health. Early in her career, she established herself as a passionate champion for families, founding the Arizona Postpartum Wellness Coalition and earning honors such as Arizona’s Mother of the Year.

In 2019, her trajectory took a deeply personal turn when she moved from provider to patient following a diagnosis of triple-negative breast cancer and the BRCA1 genetic mutation. After enduring chemotherapy and fifteen surgeries, she faced a new, lifelong reality: living with complex, multi-systemic invisible disabilities, including Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS).

Recognizing a major gap in emotional support within chronic illness care, Dr. Hibbert transformed her personal health challenges into a mission to support others. She launched her Reluctant Warrior platform to bridge her professional psychological expertise with authentic, lived patient advocacy.

Her ongoing experience persevering through complex conditions profoundly informs her clinical insight. Dr. Hibbert validates the often-unspoken reality of “resilience fatigue” and actively rejects toxic positivity in favor of honest, day-to-day management. Through her writing and support communities, she equips individuals and families with practical psychological tools to navigate hidden illness with grace and self-compassion.

Driven by a passionate desire to ensure no one navigates chronic illness alone, Dr. Hibbert advocates for whole-person care that integrates emotional healing directly alongside medical treatment. Her steadfast work continues to bridge the divide between clinician and patient, empowering individuals with lifelong invisible disabilities to thrive through every season of their journey.
