George Luecke JD
George Luecke is an innovative insurance and financial services executive with approximately 30 years of experience. He has worked in various roles across all sectors of the insurance industry. He is also experienced in the areas of investment banking, art, technology, cryptocurrency, and law.
Serving on IDA’s board is a personal and professional mission for George. He has family members, and leads an insurance enterprise dedicated to clients, with both invisible and visible disabilities.
Board Member
In addition to serving on IDA’s board, George is the President & Chief Strategy Officer of Independent Insurance Group and the Chief Operating Officer of its main subsidiary, Independent Life Insurance Company. These companies are dedicated to providing innovative “structured settlement” solutions tailored to the needs of people with both invisible and visible disabilities due to having sustained serious physical or other injuries at some point in their lives.
Professionally, George’s career spans various roles across the Life & Annuity, Property & Casualty and Healthcare sectors of insurance as well as investment banking, art, technology, cryptocurrencies, and law. He has been an executive, board member, investor and even founder of companies of all sizes and life cycle stages (ranging from large multi-nationals to small start-ups). Personally, George has immediate and extended family members with complicated, debilitating invisible disabilities as well as physical disabilities.
In both my professional and personal life, I witness every day how invisible disabilities profoundly impact loved ones and their families. The daily battles, often fought in isolation. The emotional roller coaster of hopes and setbacks. The endless search for understanding, solutions, and support. I’m privileged to have the opportunity to help IDA as a board member.
When not working, George finds solace, peace, and adventure in the ocean. Growing up on the coast, he spent as much time as he could boating, waterskiing, fishing, clamming, crabbing, and scuba diving.
George earned his B.S. in Management/Finance from Binghamton University and J.D. from Harvard Law School. He is admitted to the NY State Bar, holds Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) and Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) certifications, and co-authors “Structured Settlements and Periodic Payment Judgments,” the structured settlement industry’s authoritative legal, regulatory, tax and business practices treatise.
