Kaycee Bills PhD MSW LSW, as a scholar with a disability, has a passion for teaching and helping students to become change agents in the field of social work, and empowering students with disabilities.

IDEAS – Invisible Disabilities® Education Awareness & Support

Kaycee Bills PhD MSW LSW is an assistant professor in the Bachelor of Social Work program at St Mary’s College and a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). She received of her Bachelor’s in Social Work (BSW) from the University of Saint Francis in 2013, her MSW from Hawaii Pacific University in 2015, and her PhD from the University of Tennessee in 2019.

Kaycee has worked in disability case management, community mental health, foster care and adoption, research and data analytics, and she served in the US Navy Reserves. She is a co-founder of a special needs cheerleading squad called the Whitley County Dazzlers, a research affiliate with the Racism-Based Violence & Injury Prevention lab at Boston College and serves as a volunteer Director of IDEAS at the Invisible Disabilities Association.

Kaycee’s favorite part about teaching is the opportunity to mentor students and collaborate with them on research projects. She has published several articles and has been featured on news channels about her advocacy for disability social work. She enjoys traveling to new countries and watching her daughter compete in dance and the Special Olympics.
