Margaret A Ferrante, MD is the 2011 recipient of the Invisible Disabilities Association Perseverance Award. Dr. Ferrante has been chosen based upon her amazing perseverance and inspiration as she lives each day with the devastating results of a major car accident causing multiple chronic illnesses and injuries  including Dysautonomia and Traumatic Brain Injury. In addition, Dr. Ferrante is using these experiences along with her education and training as a physician to encourage others living with difficulties.

Dr. Ferrante received her MD from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. She received additional specialty training in Anesthesiology and Critical Care from Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Ferrante has served as an Assistant professor at the UCLA Department of Anesthesiology, the UCLA Department of Radiology, and at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Radiology, Anesthesiology and Critical Care Departments. She also served as the Interim Chief of the Department of Anesthesiology at the Philadelphia Veteran’s Administration Hospital in 2001.
