Tami Lack has been selected to be the 2014 recipient of the Invisible Disabilities Association Healthcare Honors Award. Tami has been chosen based upon her passion and care for people living with neurological conditions as the Executive Director of the Colorado Neurological Institute. Tami provides outstanding leadership to further the mission of CNI of enhancing the delivery of personalized, comprehensive and state-of-the-art care through coordinated research, patient services and education.
Tami has been in the nonprofit world for nearly 30 years, serving in various roles such as Program Director, Grant Writer and Development Director. She has been Executive Director of the Napa Valley Mental Health Association in California and the Sister Carmen Center in Lafayette, Colorado.
In her early career, she was a successful registered music therapist and eventually became a rehabilitation supervisor at the beautiful 1800 bed Veterans Home of California. Throughout her career, she has worked with many MS, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and stroke patients, which she still enjoys. She has her master’s degree in organizational leadership, serves on several boards (including an international health care clinic in Sierra Leone, Africa) and has three wonderful sons that she adores!
