Jill Knox Association of Applied and Therapeutic Humor Invisible Disabilities 2014 Healthy Humor Award

Jill Knox has been selected to be the 2014 recipient of the Invisible Disabilities Association’s Healthy Humor Award.  Jill has been chosen for her leadership as President of the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor (AATH). Thank you for serving a community of professionals who help practice and promote healthy humor and laughter oftentimes in the midst of illness, pain and tragedy.

The Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor is an international non-profit organization of humor and laughter enthusiasts whose mission is to serve as a community of professionals dedicated to the study, practice, and promotion of healthy humor and laughter. The theme of Jill’s presidency is Humor for Peace, knowing that humor and laughter are gateways to a more peaceful world.

As an educator, Jill’s use of humor in the classroom led her to a career as a speaker and founder of The Sunnyside, providing workshops and keynotes which emphasize the power of humor in the workplace and in daily living.  She is also a passionate believer in life-long learning and has enjoyed, but not yet mastered, playing Steel Pan and Ukulele.  She has continued her path to enlightenment as a student of the National Peace Academy Peace Building, Peace Learning certificate program.
