2015 Founders Award

David Geras has been selected to be the 2015 recipient of the Invisible Disabilities Association Founders Award. David has been chosen based upon his personal involvement with IDA’s founder as a strategic advisor and for providing business and organizational expertise to IDA’s executive board.

David Geras is the co-founder and CEO of GoldLeaf HomeCare. After a successful 25 year career in global technology sales, marketing and business development management positions with industry leaders IBM, BMC, Sun Microsystems, Sony and NEC, David decided to shift career directions and establish a home health services company to better meet the needs of America’s aging population.

David noticed the availability of consistent, quality home healthcare was seriously deficient, not only in the Denver, Colorado area, but across the country. David heard numerous stories from friends and business associates about inconsistent, unreliable caregivers, but he was personally impacted by these issues when close family members were struck with the seriously debilitating diseases of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. The importance of compassionate care for people not being able to get through their daily routine or requiring constant attention when family members cannot be with them 24×7 became a critical need for his family. Time and time again, they came up short finding reputable companies to meet their needs.
