My cousin, Susan Kohn, was diagnosed with Lupus earlier this year. Before this illness, she had been very active, energetic, and worked as a special needs teacher, working with many students with autism. I hope that as they get more of a handle on her medication and treatment, that the daily pain she exeriences will minimize, and that she will have more good days than bad. We have all felt helpless in this. Living in Atlanta, and with her in New Jersey, i have been so grateful for her friends, her husband, and her parents who have provided her with so much support. Her husband Rob entered a video in the Sears Billion Points Contest this summer. If she wins, she gets sears points to spend at sears, and the Lupus foundation gets $125,000 and St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital gets $125,000. Somehow, Rob entered this video without Susan knowing. Even their kids knew! And somehow, he managed to email all of her family and friends, on a daily basis to remind them to vote each day, without her knowing. Rob wanted Susan to feel the support and love of all of us and how many people were thinking about her and voting for their video. He also wanted to raise awareness about Lupus and how it impacts people and their families. His video received more than 9000 votes and made it into the top 20 finalists, from more than 400,000 videos that were entered. Sue was touched and speechless the day he showed her the video online, and all the votes that it had received. Now her video is in the top 20 finalists. The contest has one more week of voting. It ends November 3rd. People can vote daily, and this would be an amazing gift if others could help by voting. The first time people vote, they will get a confirmation email that they need to click on to confirm that they voted. Then they can vote each day if they wish. Rob wanted so much to do something nice for Susan, and to raise awareness of Lupus.Voting now closed. Contest ended. Thank you to all who voted.
